Project summary
The Bay Area Urban Forestry Crew will work as a team with local park and city staff on various urban forestry projects to address issues of tree canopy in disadvantaged communities. All three crew members will have on-the-job training with SCA and partner staff to complete different projects throughout various parks and city property.
Opportunity description
Crew Members will be trained in tool usage, safety, member wellness, job hazard assessments, and conflict resolution. Members will work in new outdoor environments all while learning new skills. Being excited and open to new experiences is a huge advantage for members.

Requirements and qualifications
Requirements
Must be a minimum of 18 years of age. Must have the ability to legally work in the US.
Preferred qualifications
Experience or interest with conservation work skills or related skills preferred – i.e. trail maintenance, trail construction, habitat restoration, chainsaw, carpentry, landscaping, and gardening. Ability to perform manual, physical labor for up to 8 hours per day, exposed to the elements, and must occasionally lift and/or move 40 pounds or more.
