Project summary
Join the efforts of the newly formed Missouri Conservation Corps in Columbia, Missouri, to help build the reach of their environmental stewardship projects in Columbia. Assist with creating volunteer recruitment materials, training volunteers, and reaching new groups with opportunities to improve community green spaces. Help build the capacity to provide opportunities for low-income youth to participate in hands on environmental stewardship activities and serve low income areas.
Opportunity description
The AmeriCorps member in the Stream Teams United VISTA project at this site will assist the newly formed Missouri Conservation Corps with its volunteer recruitment efforts in Columbia, MO for their work of environmental stewardship of community green spaces. The member will help expand the reach of Missouri Conservation Corps programs to reach low income youth with opportunities to participate in ecological restoration projects, as well as expand the reach of programs to serve low income areas.
