Project summary
The Maryland Conservation Corps (MCC) is an award-winning AmeriCorps program that engages young adults, ages 17-25, in extensive natural resource management and park conservation projects. The mission of the program is to provide young adults with opportunities for service in the community and the environment by preserving, protecting, enhancing, and restoring Maryland’s natural resources.
Opportunity description
Crews are placed throughout the state, specializing in services such as environmental education, park improvements, stream restoration, trail work, invasive species removal, and habitat restoration. Crews may focus on forestry work, trail maintenance and construction, reforestation, environmental education, wildlife habitat improvement, and Chesapeake Bay restoration.

Requirements and qualifications
Requirements
17 to 25 years of age. United States citizen. Have a High School diploma or be willing to work toward a GED. Have a desire to work in conservation. Be willing to work in all kinds of outdoor conditions. Be willing to camp for up to a week at a time. Be a team player. Have a positive attitude. Personal or public transportation to a designated job site
