The program increases the opportunities for recent college graduates to devote a year of service to communities and use their skills to make a difference, attracts and retains people with a passion for public service, especially in rural areas, and strengthens civic engagement and community resilience by involving community residents as well as Service Fellows in volunteer-based solutions.

Opportunity description

Maine Service Fellows are passionate about addressing social justice and sustainability. In addition to implementing a unique service plan, Fellows must devote 20% of their time to developing regional networks of volunteer programs and leaders.
