Project summary

The Northwest Indiana Urban Forestry team will work closely with local municipal departments, organizations and communities to identify tree planting needs in Northwest Indiana. SCA has been planting trees across Northwest Indiana since 2017, with over 2,000 planted to date.  The team will be responsible for the installation of 300-500 successful tree plantings. 

Opportunity description

The Northwest Indiana Urban Forestry team will work closely with local municipal departments, organizations and communities to identify tree planting needs in Northwest Indiana. The team will be responsible for the installation of 300-500 successful tree plantings. Each team member will aid in the ongoing maintenance of newly planted trees and previously planted trees from past seasons. Maintenance includes mulching, watering, pruning, staking, fencing, inspecting, and tracking.

Requirements and qualifications

Requirements

No prior experience necessary to apply. Passion for the great outdoors. Physical effort is heavy to moderate for this position and requires occasional lifting or handling of objects or materials up to 50 lbs., unassisted, following proper lifting procedures to avoid injury. Frequently required to stand while working, climb ladders or scaffolding, and bend, stoop, climb, and work in awkward positions.
