Collect data, engage community members, create education materials, and coordinate events to support habitat restoration in the Back 5 Community.
Opportunity description
The Community Engagement Coordinator is in partnership between the Confluence Environmental Center, AmeriCorps Program, and Leach Botanical Garden. This position will work with the Back 5 Community Habitat Enhancement Project partners, including staff from Leach Botanical Garden to create and deliver public programming and data collection that supports the goals of habitat restoration, healthy waterways, and community engagement.

Requirements and qualifications
Requirements
Some experience in environmental education (can be a personal interest or lived experience). Communication- candidate should be fairly comfortable interacting with a diverse audience including age, race, ethnicity, family status, etc. Communication should be friendly and professional. High quality writing and verbal skills. Ability to walk on uneven trails, slopes, and be outdoors in changing climates. Willingness/openness to learn about and discuss racial equity and social justice issues.
Preferred qualifications
Knowledge about restoration, watersheds, and riparian areas. Experience working with children. Comfortable with public speaking. Canva or graphic design experience. Social media content creation.
