Project summary
The Campus Compact AmeriCorps VISTA program places AmeriCorps VISTA members with campus and community partners. During this year, members spend 35 hours per week on their host site’s campus to work on building systems and programs that support low-income college students and community members. The VISTA member works to build community capacity by enhancing or creating systems, structures, and resources.
Opportunity description
Canopy’s mission is to grow a vibrant, urban tree canopy in Midpeninsula communities for the benefit of all. The VISTA member will work on community outreach projects focusing on community listening, outreach, and deepening existing relationships with key partners and groups. The VISTA will facilitate community engagement activities centered around community input and support existing neighborhood priorities.

Requirements and qualifications
Requirements
BA/BS or equivalent experience. U.S. citizen, national, DACA status, or legal permanent resident. Must be able to complete a federal background check.
Preferred qualifications
Excellent customer service skills. Knowledge of environmental sustainability and climate action. Ability to work independently. Proficiency in Microsoft Suites and Google Workspace. Good communications skills.
