Project summary
Engage young Americans in pesticide container recycling and groundwater monitoring to reduce the amount of pesticides leaking into waterways, enhance the number of containers that can be recycled, and educate the public on the importance of proper pesticide disposal.
Opportunity description
Creation of recycling and groundwater educational materials, pesticide container recycling and groundwater sample collection, education and outreach regarding pesticide container recycling and groundwater protection, and MESONET weather station maintenance.

Requirements and qualifications
Requirements
Comfortable driving a pickup and pulling a trailer. valid driver’s license. comfortable with long amounts of time on the road and being outdoors in variable weather. able to work with different types of PPE (gloves, Tyvek suits, hearing protection). and ability to bend, crouch, dig, and climb on and off trailers and ladders.
Preferred qualifications
Familiar with environmental sample collection and record keeping.
