Project summary

Review invasive plant surveys and delineate their distribution. Track changes in natural communities and create necessary maps. Identify and assess potential habitats for gopher tortoises and other at-risk species, and survey listed plant and animal species. Record observations and habitat suitability for community maps. Conduct educational classes for tenants and youth groups. Navy natural resources personnel will be significantly involved in all tasks.

Benefits

  • Living Allowance: $300.00 per week
  • Relocation Expenses: $1100.00 one-time
  • Commuter Allowance: $50.00 per week
  • Housing: $1000.00 per month
  • Duty-related travel/expenses: up to $200 (reimbursable)

Requirements and qualifications

Requirements

Driver's license, personal vehicle required. To be eligible to serve as an AmeriCorps Member, you must: Be a citizen, permanent resident, or national of the United States; Be at least 18 years old; Have a high school diploma or equivalent; Be willing to undergo a National Service Criminal History Check, including criminal background, sex offender, and FBI checks.
