Opportunity description

GIS Specialists learn hands-on skills in utilizing GIS and GPS technology and implementing GIS/GPS technology into outreach and community initiatives for outdoor recreation and protecting wildlife. The Individual Placements program prioritizes personal and professional growth while teaching hands-on conservation skills in the field. Specialists develop technical skills throughout their term while completing challenging and impactful conservation projects.

Requirements and qualifications

Requirements

Strong communication skills, with the ability to educate and interact with landowners and community members; Willingness to learn and adapt to changing plans, work, and weather conditions; High school degree or GED; Valid driver's license

Preferred qualifications

GIS experience in ArcPro, ArcGIS Desktop, ArcGIS online; Experience and technical skills in using Global Positioning System (GPS) technology; Familiarity with MS Office software (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
